Bordeaux Montaigne University actively protects its traditional discipline base, but also fosters the advent of teaching in new fields. The University delivers 138 national diplomas via its three Faculties:

The particularly wide range of courses on offer has been developed in resonance with the important question of knowledge sharing and is a response to the prerequisites of professions of both today and tomorrow, in close connection with cutting-edge fields of research.

The University works in close collaboration with the teacher training college of the Aquitaine Region (ESPE) to provide professional training for future schoolteachers.

DEFLE

The DEFLE is a department of Bordeaux Montaigne University in Bordeaux specialised in teaching French to non French-speaking students. The courses on offer and teaching methods used are closely linked to research in language didactics conducted at the university. The DEFLE encourages dialogue and exchange between French-speaking cultures and specialises in inter-cultural education.

Doctoral School

Faithful to the humanist ideal of Montaigne, the Doctoral School Montaigne - Humanities simultaneously shares knowledge and offers a reflection as well as a culture, open rather than closed, not strictly utilitarian, receptive to the international dimension of research and to a profound comprehension of beings, facts, languages and civilizations.
