The particularly wide range of courses on offer has been developed in resonance with the important question of knowledge sharing and is a response to the prerequisites of professions of both today and tomorrow, in close connection with cutting-edge fields of research.
The University works in close collaboration with the teacher training college of the Aquitaine Region ( INSPE) to provide professional training for future schoolteachers.
The DEFLE is a department of Bordeaux Montaigne University in Bordeaux specialised in teaching French to non French-speaking students. The courses on offer and teaching methods used are closely linked to research in language didactics conducted at the university. The DEFLE encourages dialogue and exchange between French-speaking cultures and specialises in inter-cultural education.
Faithful to the humanist ideal of Montaigne, the Doctoral School Montaigne - Humanities simultaneously shares knowledge and offers a reflection as well as a culture, open rather than closed, not strictly utilitarian, receptive to the international dimension of research and to a profound comprehension of beings, facts, languages and civilizations.
