Rare books and manuscripts

Heritage funds are composed by the oldest, most rare or valuable documents that are the object of special care and are stored, for this reason, in a warehouse.

At the Literature and Human Sciences library, these funds consist essentially in:

  • Old printed books from the fifteenth to the nineteenth century;
  • Rare regional history books, original and bibliophile editions;
  • Modern manuscripts (from the seventeenth to the twentieth century);
  • Old photographs.

In other libraries:

  • Old maps in the Geography Library;
  • LE-LEA Library: Chinese printed books from the seventeenth to the twentieth century, Japanese printed books from the eighteenth to the twentieth century, Italian printed books from the eighteenth to the twentieth century;
  • The Iberian and Ibero-American Library preserves 93 titles dating back to the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries representing about 150 volumes and 529 titles from the nineteenth century (Spanish and Portuguese books for the most part).
