Social Security and Healthcare Mutuals
- Check your health insurance cover: all students enrolled for the academic year must be covered up until 30 September (compulsory French regulation).
WITHOUT EXCEPTION, students who do not provide documentation to this effect must take out cover with the French Social Security regime (annual fee for 2014-2015: 213€). Without proof of this or of health insurance cover, you will not be able to enrol at the university, nor follow lessons or obtain any grades or ECTS credits.
- You are a student from an EEA (European Economic Area) country: you must present your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). The validity period of the card must be equal to the period of adhesion to the social security regime for students (1 October to 30 September).
- You are a student from outside the EEA, or are not a resident of the EEA: you must adhere, except in special cases, to the Social Security regime for students or prove that you have health cover with an insurance provider. This health cover is mandatory and must entitle you to full reimbursement of medical costs (doctor, dentist, medication, hospital).
